So what is the English Baccalaureate?

The English Baccalaureate is not a qualification in itself, but rather a collection of key GCSE's.

To be awarded the English Baccalaureate you will need to achieve at least an A*- C grade at GCSE in each of the following:

English Language

Mathematics

History or Geography

French or German

and at least two A*- C GCSE grades in Science.

Why would I need this?

If you are thinkning of going on to Higher Education or University it would be a very good idea to have the English Baccalaureate.

This is a new idea so don't be worried to ask your teachers if you don't understand it, or want to know whether it is a good idea for you.
