Year 7 Catch Up Funding

Year 7 Catch Up Funding

Year 7 catch up funding during the academic year 2020/21 was used, in February, to purchase Lexia, a cloud based literacy intervention programme.

Students identified as underperforming in the screening in September were invited to take part in the programme from home during lockdown then in small groups on their return to school.
COVID restrictions meant that their time engaged with the programme was not optimal for the rapid progress expected but those who were able to access the programme made significant progress in the three areas of the programme: grammar, word study and comprehension.

80% of the year 7s enrolled in the programme moved from ‘foundational stage’ to ‘intermediate stage’ in at least one of these areas in the 5 months from February to July.
