Holyrood Academy’s first ever Dance Troupe competed at the Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership School Games held at Millfield School in April. This newly-formed team were encouraged by Mr Richard Evans, Sports Development Manager at Holyrood. He wanted to help Holyrood’s keen dancers to excel and showcase their talent to the county. They performed a modern take on Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, enticing audiences to reminisce with their costumes and classic moves. The girls were choreographed by Miss Kelly from the Kelly Leigh School of Dance, who often supports the Academy at community events. Mr Evans is hoping the Troupe will continue to participate in other similar events, gaining further experience and thus developing an enviable reputation for the Academy’s dancers.
