Holyrood Academy's Year 7 boys rugby squad concluded a busy but successful first half term with back-to-back wins against Castle School Taunton and The Kings School, Ottery St Mary in their last week before the half term holidays. Both oppisition schools are regarded as in the top sporting schools in the whole of the Southwest. Castle were defeated by a massive 70-15 with Player of the Match being shared between Harvi Gardiner and Sam Peacock. Wet and windy conditions vs Kings led to a much closer game which Holyrood won 10-5. Player of the match this time was Max Clayton. These two victories mean that the Year 7 squad is unbeaten after 6 matches this term. Head of Rugby Simon Jenkins said "Over 25 players got game time in these matches, which shows the strength and depth we have. To achieve back-to-back wins against schools of this calibre is testament to how high the standard of rugby at Holyrood has become."
