Awards Evening 2017

Monday 18th December saw a glittering Awards Evening for Holyrood Academy students who were recognised for their high achievement, maximum effort and success during the academic year 2016-17. The event was attended by the Mayor of Chard Gary Shortland, Senior Vice President of Leonardo Helicopters Ray Edwards, Production Shift Manager at Oscar Mayer Agata Kulig as well as Holyrood’s Chair of Governors Mac Davison, Executive Principal Martin Brook and Headteacher Matthew Collins among many staff supporting the students' achievements and awarding the prizes.

This annual occasion was held once again at the Chard Guildhall where the hall was aptly decorated as ‘Holyrood frames its Stars’ with all prize-winners and their families made to feel very special and proud of their achievements. Guests were entertained throughout the evening by the exquisite Holyrood Chamber Choir, conducted by Mr Trevor Lloyd Jones.

Students were presented with prizes for exceptional performance at GCSE and A Level as well as the Academy's traditional Major Cups which are awarded for a variety of contributions to the Academy, community and individual achievement. Please see the lists below for details.

Mr Matthew Collins said, “It is evenings such as these that make us so proud of our students. Congratulations to all the deserving prizewinners. We hope you enjoy the recognition you have received for the efforts you made last year. I am sure you will all continue to impress throughout your lives.”
