Year 7 Futsal: Through to County Finals!

The Year 7 Boys Futsal team travelled to Bucklers Mead on Monday 29th January to play Bucklers Mead and Maiden Beech in the County Futsal play-offs. The boys were hoping for a win to get through to the County Finals which are to be held after Easter. The Holyrood side faced Maiden Beech in their first game where the boys were able to make the most of their chances and win 4-1. They then had an extremely close game against Bucklers Mead which ended in a 1-1 draw. After Maiden Beech then beat Bucklers, the final match of the day between Maiden Beech and Holyrood would decide who went through to the County Finals. The boys were raring to go and started strongly making it 1-0 within 20 seconds. The boys were 4-1 up when Maiden Beech came back strongly and made it 4-2. With a couple of minutes left on the clock Holyrood finished the game off with a 5th goal and ended 5-2 up. Mr Evans, Team Manager, said "I am delighted for the boys. They played really well and deserve to go through to the County finals. Jake Davey was awarded player of the day for his exceptional performances in all 3 games."
