CAFOS Concert - A Resounding Success!

CAFOS Concert - A Resounding Success!

It was most certainly a 'full house' on Wednesday 7th March 2018 for the annual CAFOS (Chard Area Federation of Schools) Concert! A resoundingly successful evening was held as local primaries participated in the showcase of musical talent at Holyrood Academy.

Music teachers, Mr Andrew Gilham and Mr Lloyd Jones welcomed 7 excited and exceptionally talented primary schools to showcase their musical talents: Ashill, Buckland, Combe, Manor Court, Redstart, Tatworth and Winsham. Mr Gilham marvelled at, “the talent and commitment demonstrated by everyone taking part.” Audiences were also treated to some stunning performances by the Holyrood Academy award-winning Choir.

The finale was once again a resounding an emotional sing-a-long! Mr Lloyd Jones enthusiastically conducted the 250 singers in a rendition of ‘Drop in the Ocean’– in fact it was so good, they sang it twice!!! Mrs Davison, Vice Principal at Holyrood, remarked on the quality of the performances and the importance of getting young people together to make music. She said “What a fabulous evening. Many thanks to all the staff for their work in preparing for this event, and of course, to the children themselves.”
