The annual Open Evening at Holyrood Academy proved a big success once again on Thursday 10th October when the Academy was packed with prospective students eager to find out what Holyrood has to offer.
The evening was buzzing with youngsters who were impressed at the range of activities in each department, from concocting ice cream using frozen carbon dioxide, having a go at ‘speed-bouncing’, creating handfuls of smoke and using soldering irons. Current students helped to represent the Academy and provide information to guests, with staff and Sixth Formers also on hand to meet, greet and direct.
CEO Lorraine Heath’s keynote speech focussed on the core values underpinning her ethos. She said, “Students joining Holyrood next year will be doing so at such an exciting time of the Academy’s development. We want to discover, nurture and develop every aspect of our students’ abilities and produce successful and fulfilled young adults as a result.”
On the evening, Mrs Sam Davison, Senior Deputy Headteacher said “The staff and I were thrilled by the sheer numbers of prospective students and their families who attended the open evening. It was a delight to see so many informed and interested visitors.”
If you would like to visit the Academy 'in action', then please make an appointment for one of our Open Mornings on Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th October 2019 on 01460 260100.
