Year 6 Transition

Welcome

Welcome to #TeamHolyrood!

Thank you for putting your trust in us to educate your child. I am very aware of the magnitude of that responsibility and of the trust you are placing in us. I, and the amazing staff team here at Holyrood, take this responsibility very seriously.

I hope that you have had the chance to attend one of our Roadshows at your Primary School, or to come and visit us for Open Evening
or a Tour. If you haven’t yet, please ask your Primary School or our School Office for more details.

Once you have received confirmation that your child has a place at Holyrood, we will be in touch with you to inform you of details of our Transition Days, Transition Evening and Meet the Tutor Evening. We will also get to know your child by speaking with them and their
Year 6 teacher at their Primary School.

We know that children with a Special Educational Need or Disability might need a little more support to transfer to secondary school.
Our SEND Team work closely with Year 6 Teachers and SENDCos in all of our local Primary Schools to make sure that the transition is as smooth as possible.

Our school prospectus will tell you a little about our school and what we stand for, but the best way to hear about and feel it for yourself is to come and visit us! Our student guides are always happy to show prospective families around our school.

I am very much looking forward to working with you all in the future and to welcoming your children to Holyrood soon.

Mr Dave MacCormick
Headteacher
